Privacy, explained plainly.

Geek & Done collects only the information needed to respond, provide help, keep appointments safe and improve the website.

Effective date: August 15, 2026

The short version

Geek & Done does not sell personal information. Google Analytics, a website measurement service from Google, is enabled by default on this U.S.-focused site unless you turn it off or your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You enter your own passwords, and remote access is temporary and supervised.

Who this policy covers

This policy explains how Geek & Done, a San Diego-area business, handles information from website visitors and customers. To ask a privacy question or make a privacy request, use the Request Help form and select “Privacy question or request.”

Information you may provide

  • Your name, email address, optional phone number and general availability.
  • Your ZIP code and, after an in-home request is accepted, the service address.
  • Information about the task, devices, apps, accounts or materials involved.
  • Optional screenshots, photographs, documents or copies on removable media.
  • Appointment, communication, quote, contract, invoice and payment records.

Please do not send passwords, security or recovery codes, Social Security numbers, banking details, medical information or other highly sensitive information through the website.

Information collected automatically

Hosting and security systems may receive technical information such as an IP address, browser or device type, pages visited, referring page and date or time of a visit. Vercel Web Analytics may be used to understand website traffic using aggregated, anonymized data without cookies.

Google Analytics is a website measurement service from Google. It helps Geek & Done understand general usage patterns, such as which pages are visited and which browser or device category is used, so the site’s content and navigation can be improved. It may load by default and set analytics cookies, including _ga cookies. Geek & Done does not intentionally send names, email addresses, form responses or service-request details to Google Analytics. You can turn it off at any time through “Manage cookies” in the footer.

How information is used

  • Review and respond to requests, recommend a service method and provide estimates.
  • Screen, schedule, deliver and follow up on remote or in-home services.
  • Communicate, prepare agreements, invoice and process payments.
  • Protect customers and the business, prevent misuse and maintain required records.
  • Understand and improve the website and services.

Services that help run Geek & Done

Information is shared only as needed with service providers that perform work for Geek & Done, or when required by law. These may include:

  • Google and Gmail for email and website analytics.
  • Vercel for website hosting and privacy-focused web analytics.
  • 17hats for inquiry management, customer records, scheduling, forms, contracts, invoices and payments.
  • Payment processors used through the booking or invoicing service. Geek & Done does not receive full payment-card details.
  • A remote-support provider selected for secure, one-time sessions. The provider will be identified before a connection begins.

Geek & Done does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

Remote help and account safety

When remote access is useful, you will be guided through starting a temporary connection. You stay present, can see what is happening and can end the session. Unattended access is not installed. You enter your own passwords and security codes; Geek & Done does not ask to keep them.

Manage cookies

Google Analytics uses cookies to help Geek & Done understand visits and page use so the website can be improved. It does not control essential site functions. Google Analytics is enabled by default on this U.S.-focused site, and the site stores your analytics choice in your browser so it can remember the preference. You can turn analytics off or back on at any time with “Manage cookies” in the footer. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, Google Analytics remains off.

Checking your current analytics setting…

Google Analytics measures general site use; it is not required for the website to work. Essential site functions and privacy-focused Vercel analytics continue whether Google Analytics is on or off.

Retention and security

Information is kept only as long as reasonably needed to handle a request, provide services, maintain business, tax, insurance or legal records, resolve disputes and protect against fraud or misuse. Uploads and working copies are removed when no longer needed for those purposes.

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards are used, but no website, email or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

Your choices

You may ask to access, correct or delete personal information, subject to identity verification and information that must be retained for legal or legitimate business purposes. Use the Request Help form and select “Privacy question or request.”

Other websites, children and updates

Links to other websites are governed by their own privacy practices. Geek & Done is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. This policy may be updated as services or providers change; the effective date above will show the latest revision.
